Founded by Jadu Samrat Vikram, award-winning illusionist from Assam and founder principal of the academy, Gurukul Magic Academy is for those who have a deep interest in learning magic in its truest form.
Located at Panjabari, an important cultural hub of Guwahati, and housed within the serene campus of Shilpigram, the academy is surrounded by cultural centres including Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, North East Zonal Cultural Centre, State Music College and Assam Film Finance & Development Corporation Ltd.

The Save Magic Project was launched with the twin objective of restoring the magic art form of Assam to its earlier glory and spreading awareness about the “Science behind Magic”. As part of this project, the academy provided free training and scholarships to over 200 students.
Another notable highlight was the first-of-its-kind VCD “Vikram’s Choo-Mantar”, focused on creating mass awareness about magic. It was launched on Magic Day (Axom), 10 August 2010, by Dr. Hiren Gohain in the presence of dignitaries, with personalities from different fields taking part in the video.
